Jen is a lifelong athlete and knee injury warrior after 3 ACL reconstructions and 2 other big-time knee injuries/surgeries. After having wildly different rehab experiences between her first and second ACL injuries, Jen discovered that athletes who are serious about returning to sport after big knee injuries require super specialized and dedicated care from a provider who knows what it’s like to be sidelined (and also knows the most efficient treatment approaches for knee injuries).
When you walk into The Knee PT and Coaching, Jen sees you as a whole person – not just a robot with a knee injury. She knows how much season-ending injuries can impact other parts of your life, including how you connect with your social community, perform at work, show up as a spouse, parent your kids, and be excited about getting out of bed in the morning. She also knows how important it is for you to not just get back to your sport, but to do it with total trust and confidence in your body (both for your enjoyment AND lowering the risk of having another injury happen along the way). This is the biggest reason why she’s different than any other Physical Therapist who works with knee injuries.
After having her own variety of return-to-sport experiences and working with patients who also have big athletic goals post-injury, Jen decided to get her certification in Mindset Coaching and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) so that she could support all of the athletes she works with through all parts of them that are impacted by their injury (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual). She loves watching her patients crush their physical rehab goals and also grow into the most empowered and confident version of themselves at the same time. And bonus – their level of play when they do return to sport is even better than it was pre-injury.
When Jen isn’t working with patients in the clinic or coaching clients virtually, you can find her helping out with local sports teams as they work to reduce injuries and amp up their performance. She has a special place in her heart for soccer, which was her first sports love.
Her idea of a perfect day is waking up to go for a long run, sip on a warm drink, and then play with her family outside somewhere in the mountains before refreshing with an afternoon nap. Play hard, rest hard, and repeat, right?
